MTG — Foundations Commander Deck: Reign of Dragons (Red)

Releases Friday 2 October 2026.

The sky belongs to dragons. Reign of Dragons is the red deck in the Foundations Commander series — a mono-red Dragons deck built around ramping into huge flying threats and burning the table down. One of five ready-to-play decks designed to introduce Commander, Magic's most popular multiplayer format.

What's in the box

• 100-card ready-to-play Commander deck — 99 regular cards plus 1 traditional foil mythic rare commander with new borderless artwork
• 10× double-sided token cards
• 1× deck box (holds 100 sleeved cards)
• 1× strategy insert
• 1× reference card

Why this deck

Every Foundations Commander deck is mono-coloured with a single clear archetype, which makes them far easier to pick up than a typical multicoloured precon. Reign of Dragons is the crowd-pleaser — big dragons, big damage, and the most immediately satisfying deck of the five for a new player. Built entirely from reprints, with dozens of rares and mythics.

Perfect for

• New Commander players — the most intuitive of the five: play dragons, attack
• Red mages — burn, haste, and aggression
• Dragon collectors — a strong core of dragon reprints in one box
• Playgroups starting together — buy several decks and everyone begins on an even footing
