What is MTG Day?

On Sunday 26 July, Arcane Forge runs a special daytime edition of MTG Night — our own Commander format, pods of four matched by deck power level, playing for fun and for a shared prize pool that grows throughout the afternoon.

Same system as our regular Tuesday night, just stretched across an afternoon — three full games instead of however many fit into an evening. Built around one idea: everyone who shows up has a chance to walk away with something.

2
13:30 — Game 1
First Commander game of the day.
3
~15:00 — Game 2
Short break, then straight into game two. Pods may be reshuffled between games.
4
~16:30 — Game 3
Final game of the afternoon.
5
18:00 — Raffle Draw
We close the day with the raffle draw from the shared prize pool, live in front of everyone.

Times are approximate and depend on how long each game runs — Commander games can take a while, and that's part of the fun.

03 · Pods

Power-Level Matched

Every pod seats 4 players. We match pods by deck power level so games stay fun and competitive for everyone — no one gets stuck facing a deck three tiers above theirs.

04 · How It Works

Boosters, Quests & the Prize Pool

Our system runs in three simple steps. Here's exactly how your afternoon unfolds.

1
Check In — Buy 2 Boosters
At check-in, buy 2 booster packs at the counter. This is required to join the day.
2
Trade In — Get Quest Cards
Trade 1 or 2 boosters into the shared prize pool. For every booster you trade in, you receive 1 Quest Card in return. Trade both for 2 Quest Cards, or keep one booster for yourself and trade just one.
3
Play & Complete Quests
Each Quest Card has 6 quests to complete during your games. Finish a quest, earn a raffle ticket. The more quests you complete, the more tickets you hold.
4
End of Day — The Raffle
At the end of the evening, we draw the raffle from the shared prize pool — built entirely from everyone's traded-in boosters. More tickets, more chances to win.

Why trade in two? Trading both boosters doubles your Quest Cards — 12 quests instead of 6 — giving you more chances to earn raffle tickets and grow the shared prize pool for everyone.

05 · Quest Cards

6 Quests Per Card

Each Quest Card contains 6 objectives to chase during your games — a mix of in-game achievements and social ones. Exact quests are revealed on the Quest Card itself at check-in and may rotate each session. Examples of the kind of thing you'll be chasing:

Win a game
Deal the final blow to an opponent
Cast a spell with 5+ mana value
Play a game without conceding
Make a new friend at the table
Survive to the end of a game at 1 life or less

Exact quests are printed on the day's Quest Card and may vary each session.

06 · Prize Pool

Built by Everyone, Won by Someone

The prize pool is made entirely from boosters traded in by the players that day. The more people trade in, the bigger the pool. Every raffle ticket earned through completed quests is entered into the draw.

One pool. Drawn live. At 18:00 we draw the raffle in front of everyone — winners take packs straight from the pool.
